Jojo will present a talk on Judging the dwarf Cattleya alaorii and its hybrids. A plant of petite stature that would fit into any orchid collection In this talk, she will introduce you to Cattleya alaorii, and discuss the important characteristics an AOS judge uses to evaluate this species for an AOS award. In addition, Jojo will talk about the hybridization with this species by reviewing primary, complex and if time permits intergenerics. As this is one of her favorite cattleyas, we will all benefit from her personal experience as she shares with us her own methods of growing this species and its hybrids under lights in her basement grow tents.
