Orchid Shows

image

The Denver Orchid Society Shows typically take place in the spring and the fall. Past shows have been held at the Denver Botanic Gardens and at local nurseries in the Denver-metro area.
There are many show volunteering opportunities available for DOS members. It is a great way to learn more about orchids and make new friends.

The American Orchid Society is also a great source of information for Orchid Shows in the U.S. and around the world.

Show Volunteering Opportunities

We need your blooming orchids!
Members are encouraged to bring their blooming orchid(s) (if they do not already have an exhibit) and place them in the DOS exhibit. You can drop off your plants on Friday during show setup. If you plan to enter your plant(s) for ribbon judging you must register your own plant on Friday (we will be happy to assist). Orchids must remain in the exhibit until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. If you have never previously exhibited a plant, be prepared for a fun, exciting, and very rewarding experience!

There are many more ways you can volunteer.
You can sign up to:
• Be a clerk for the show judging
• Be a host (sign up for a 2-hour time-slot)
• Be a set-up volunteer (sign up for a 2-hour time-slot)
• Be a trear-down volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to get to know other Denver Orchid Society members and get the most out of your society membership.
